Due to the inherent heat soaking of the stock IC, we
have chosen aluminum which has the highest heat dissipation properties
of any metal. During our test, we have found that using
steel, stainless & aluminized steel not
only added a considerable amount of weight to the system, but
increased intake temperatures slightly higher than OEM piping on medium
length drives. During R&D we have noted that the stock engine has an
extreme amount of free play during start up and normal shifting of the
transmission.
To remedy any issues of the end tanks cracking we used hump hoses to allow
for free play. Kits not using hump hoses will crack the fragile
plastic end tanks under normal driving conditions. Includes: All piping, Turbohoses silicone
fiberglass reinforced hump
hoses, brackets and stainless steel liner clamps.
These are all hand made and

V1 SMIC
Turbohoses R&D is the first company to prove that using a
properly engineered SMIC has it's benefits over a FMIC.
Turbohoses OEM replacement intercooler out performs all other SMIC and FMIC
at stock boost levels. DYNO tested, we gained 16whp & 10 ft.lbs. of
torque at stock boost levels in conjunction with our
aluminum piping kit. The majority of other SMIC kits
have either modified the intake, added down pipes, exhausts or increased boost
levels to
obtain similar results.
This is a must have upgrade to anyone that
wants more power drivability /reliability in their stock and lightly
modified Protege.
