240Z TRACK RAT
The Z car was born with the characteristics of a performance car. With it's light weight, independent suspension, we found this car to have an excellent foundation. Beginning with an extremely rare IMSA widebody kit and G-Nose conversion, the body work definitely sets the tone of a heavy weight fighter ready to enter the ring. The engine is a completely blue printed/balanced 3.0 ltr. with low compression forged pistons, mildly ported and polished head. The custom tubular exhaust manifold helps decrease the spool time. A custom sheet metal intake manifold coated with carbon fiber for strength feeds the custom built combustion chamber. Due to all the tubing from the hand made exhaust manifold, we found the engine compartment radiating heat which promoted higher engine temperatures. To remedy this, we had custom fitted heat shields and a heat resistant blanket to the intake manifold. We have found this to be extremely effective with heat control. Our tests have netted us 100 dg. lower temperatures taken at the manifold. NEXT: Rebuilding the entire chassis, differential and half shafts.
